Methodology: This research adopts a mixed research method combining qualitative and quantitative approaches to study the visual elements, movement systems, and cultural connotations of the Yi ethnic group's "Tiger Dance". Through focus groups and questionnaires, the illustrations and cultural and creative products were evaluated. Results: This study has revealed the cultural connotations of the Yi ethnic group's tiger dance at both the intangible and tangible levels, and has constructed a translation mechanism based on the principles of cultural authenticity, practicality, aesthetics, and ethics, and using the paths of symbol decoding, symbol deconstruction, and image reconstruction. Through the application practice of illustration design and in the creative and cultural products, after the verification through focus groups and questionnaires, it has been proved that it can highly accurately achieve the functional transformation of tiger dance culture from ritual to daily life and the participatory experience, and has good feasibility and effectiveness.
