Translation and Psychometric Properties of the Thai Version of the Self-Compassion Scale (Thai SCS)

A Mahidol University team translated the Self-Compassion Scale through two forward translations, synthesis, two back-translations, review by the translators plus three additional experts, and a 20-person focus group before analysing 428 Thai adults recruited online. Item 26 loaded only .31 and was removed, leaving 25 items. The four-factor model returned χ²/df=3.40, RMSEA=.075, CFI=.943, TLI=.936 and SRMR=.057; the six-factor model returned χ²/df=3.48, RMSEA=.076, CFI=.943, TLI=.934 and SRMR=.056. Overall α was .92 and single-measure test–retest ICC .901. This supports initial structure and reliability, not diagnostic or predictive validity for mental health.

Analgesic self-medication among university students and staff in Thailand: Prevalence and factors associated with inappropriate use

A cross-sectional survey of 423 students and staff at one Northeastern Thai university classified 337 (79.7%) as inappropriate users because they answered 'sometimes' or 'regularly' to at least one of five risk behaviours. Sharing analgesics was reported by 71.2%, concurrent multi-analgesic use by 23.6%, dose escalation by 16.1%, excessive frequency by 15.4% and use beyond seven days by 11.3%. Each one-point increase in safer-attitude score was associated with lower odds (aOR .919, 95% CI .871–.970); analgesic use in the previous six months with higher odds (aOR 2.889, 95% CI 1.485–5.620). Knowledge was not independently associated. This is not a clinical-harm rate and does not show that changing attitudes causes safer behaviour.

Progress towards achieving the goals and targets of the 2024 United Nations General Assembly Political Declaration on Antimicrobial Resistance for countries in the Asia-Pacific region

This regional assessment compiles national data from 28 Asia-Pacific countries as an early baseline after the 2024 UN General Assembly political declaration on antimicrobial resistance and ahead of its 2030 goals. Nearly all participating countries report a national action plan and reference-laboratory capacity, but structural readiness does not equal strong implementation: 15 of 27 receive less than 30% of total AMR funding from domestic sources, only 11 plans contain numerical targets, and just 16 countries report basic water, sanitation, hygiene, and waste services in more than 75% of health facilities. The results are best used as a monitoring baseline, not evidence that population-health outcomes have improved.

Observational association evidence

Association between medical school admission pathways and documented extracurricular research participation: a sequential explanatory mixed-methods study

This single-school mixed-methods study examined records for 1,021 Thai medical students admitted in 2017–2022 through the portfolio-based TCAS1 or examination-based TCAS3 route. Documented extracurricular research participation was 21.1% versus 6.6%, with an adjusted odds ratio of 9.19 for TCAS1. Thirty interviews highlighted prior exposure, confidence, mentoring, visible entry routes, workload, and unclear opportunities. The authors explicitly caution that the association is not causal and that admission route is not a proxy for student potential.

Mapping Research on Impulse Buying and Live Streaming: A Bibliometric Analysis (2020–2025)

This review used bibliometric techniques to map scholarship on impulse buying and live streaming across 98 Web of Science documents published from 2020–2025. Bibliographic coupling and keyword co-occurrence indicated a shift from conventional impulse-buying theory toward live-commerce-specific variables: streamer attributes, real-time interaction, scarcity manipulation, and social-influence processes. The map identifies major themes, seminal publications, and emerging trends, but it neither pools effect sizes nor appraises the causal quality of each underlying study.

Associations between maternal age at first birth and parenting behaviour among migrant and displaced mothers on the Thailand-Myanmar border

A secondary analysis of 1,666 migrant and displaced Myanmar mothers on the Thailand–Myanmar border found that first birth at ages 12–19 or 20–24 was associated with more frequent self-reported physical maltreatment than first birth at age 25 or older. Directional associations with emotional maltreatment and positive parenting were not statistically significant. The study describes association rather than causation.

Ethical tensions related to over-the-counter antibiotic use in rural Cambodia: a qualitative study

Thirty in-depth interviews in Siem Pang district, northeastern Cambodia, showed that over-the-counter antibiotic use reflects cost, distance, convenience, urgent household needs, and dispensers' economic pressures as well as limited knowledge. Participants balanced immediate access against safety and household benefit against collective antimicrobial-resistance risks. Qualitative evidence explains context rather than prevalence or causation.

Stage- and Temperature-Dependent Coleoptile Elongation Under Submergence in Thai indica Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Screening 192 Thai indica rice accessions revealed wide variation in underwater coleoptile elongation and weak correspondence between anaerobic germination and anaerobic seedling development, r=0.29. Higher temperature was associated with lower dissolved oxygen and reduced elongation. Multiple QTLs and three candidate genes were identified, but gene function and field yield benefits remain unproven.

Virtual Reality–Based Mirror Guidance for Indirect Vision Training in Minimally Invasive Endodontic Access Cavity Preparation Among Dental Students: Randomized Controlled Crossover Trial

A randomized crossover trial with 30 fourth-year preclinical dental students compared verbal, visual, haptic, and no VR mirror guidance during simulated maxillary-molar access preparation. Each guidance mode reduced the outcome error score and increased visible operating-area time versus no guidance, while obstruction, posture, completion time, and usability did not differ significantly. The evidence supports short-term performance in a simulation laboratory, not skill retention, clinical transfer, or patient outcomes.

Characteristics, preventability, management, and predictors of adverse drug reaction-related hospital admissions: a cross-sectional study in a Thai tertiary care hospital

A retrospective medical-record study at one Thai tertiary teaching hospital identified 730 ICD-10-flagged adverse-drug-reaction admissions among 29,927 admissions and purposively reviewed 200. Within that sample, 66.0% were judged preventable and 67.1% had probable or definite drug causality; warfarin was the most frequently suspected drug. The single-centre retrospective design and code-based case ascertainment make these associative estimates, not national incidence or causal evidence.

Baseline techno-economic and life cycle assessment of black mass production

The study establishes technical, economic and life-cycle baselines for mechanically producing black mass, the electrode-powder concentrate used in downstream metal recovery. The same pilot flowsheet achieved 93.28 wt% separation efficiency for electric-vehicle modules and 75.77 wt% for mobile-phone cells. Using measured pilot data, the model estimated loaded costs of US$0.31–0.73/kg and net profits of US$4.39–5.53/kg under specified feedstock-price assumptions. These are modelled economics, not realised commercial-plant accounts.

Comparative Barriers and Enablers in ASEAN Long-Term Care Systems: Insights From the 2025 Regional Policy Dialogue and Policy Recommendations for Equitable Active Ageing

This qualitative study used participatory observation and reflexive thematic analysis of three sessions at the 2025 Regional Policy Dialogue involving 107 policymakers, academics, civil-society actors and providers. It identified institutional fragmentation that converts life-course disadvantage into unequal access, communities absorbing formal-care shortfalls, and the need to redistribute voice while coordinating responsibility across levels. Costs were described as falling disproportionately on women and rural or low-income older people. The findings interpret one dialogue; they are neither population-representative estimates nor a policy-effectiveness test.
